About this training:

Accurate and unbiased interpretation is essential to enhancing victim safety and perpetrator accountability. Reliance on untrained interpreters will result in omissions or mistakes that jeopardizes victim safety and successful investigation of cases involving domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence.

 

This training will provide an overview of interpretation and translation; interpreter ethics and best practices; how to assess interpreter qualifications for domestic violence and sexual assault cases; how to effectively work with interpreters; and how to spot and address poor interpretation.


Audience:

This training opportunity is for KCSDV Member Program Advocates and Staff, as well as professionals who support survivors of domestic and sexual violence in rural and underserved communities. This may include Victim Advocates, Interpreters, Law Enforcement, Legal Professionals, Healthcare Providers, and other relevant service providers.
